Sarbajanin Durga Puja

The tradition of Sarbajanin Durga Puja at China Basti Kali Bari began in the year 1979 and has since become one of the most important and cherished festivals of our community. Organized annually by the Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, affiliated with China Basti Kali Bari, the celebration brings together devotees, families, and well-wishers in a grand expression of devotion, culture, and unity.

Durga Puja is a major Hindu festival that honors Goddess Durga, the divine mother and powerful warrior goddess who symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The festival commemorates her triumph over the demon Mahishasura, and celebrates the divine feminine energy—Shakti—that sustains the universe. It is observed over five days, coinciding with the final days of Navaratri and culminating in Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra).

In 2004, we proudly celebrated the Silver Jubilee of our Durga Puja, marking 25 years of spiritual and cultural devotion. Looking forward, we are preparing with great excitement and devotion to celebrate our Golden Jubilee in 2028, which will mark 50 glorious years of this sacred tradition.

47th Sri Sri Sarodiya Durga Puja

This year, China Basti Kali Bari is proud to celebrate the 47th Sri Sri Sarodiya Durga Puja, which will be observed from 28th September to 2nd October 2025.

Since its inception in 1979, Durga Puja has remained the most prominent and eagerly awaited festival of the China Basti Kali Bari family and the Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee. This grand celebration symbolizes our unwavering devotion to Goddess Durga, the divine protector and embodiment of Shakti.

Year after year, this sacred festival brings our entire community together in devotion, joy, and cultural expression. As we step into the 47th year of this cherished tradition, we invite all devotees and well-wishers to join us in the puja celebrations and seek the blessings of Maa Durga for peace, prosperity, and well-being.
